thyssenkrupp Materials Slovakia started its cooperation with HS, a.s. last year. The goal of the cooperation was to provide services to the company instead of raw materials, thereby optimizing our partner’s manufacturing processes and resource utilization. Previously, all processing tasks were executed by our partner. As a result of the cooperation, the first stage of the production will be optimized by entrusting thyssenkrupp Materials Slovakia with the related work.

HS, a.s. is a private company with global presence headquartered in the Slovak Republic and established in 1954. The company develops and manufactures a wide range of gearboxes, axles, differentials and drive components that are most frequently used in construction, agricultural and communal equipment and in industrial and renewable energy applications. HS makes significant investments into research and development on an annual basis as well as additional investments into production equipment and increasing quality.

Thanks to the cooperation, HS will be able to serve its customers in a shorter time with greater flexibility than before. Furthermore, it will be able to devote the resources it previously allocated to the first stage of the manufacturing process to its subsequent, more value-creating processes. As a result, both the use of corporate resources and customer service can be optimized. In addition to the services related to manufacturing processes, we also provided logistics services to HS including warehousing and JIT delivery services, thanks to which our partner will be able to minimize warehouse inventory, among other benefits.

Extended range of services in Bulgaria

thyssenkrupp Materials Bulgaria is operating two service centers in Sofia and in Ruse, whereas the company has been extending gradually the service portfolio for its customers in the past years.

In addition to the wide material portfolio of steel, stainless steel and non-ferrous metals, the company is offering to its customers an extended range of services, including cutting of carbon steel from 0,3 to 12 mm and stainless steel from 1,5 to 8,0 mm with just-in-time delivery. The company is also operating a slitting line from 0,3 to 2,5 mm and is working actively to further extend the offered services as part of the strategy of Materials as a Service.
