Why did you choose the steel industry and why thyssenkrupp Materials Serbia?

It was an easy choice to make. Highest level of quality. Quality is non-negotiable, especially when it comes to materials and services. Strong leadership, dedication to continuous improvement, digital solutions, open and effective communication, opportunity for growing professionally and personally.

Experience gained from complex business challenges and leading position in the industry. To maintain a leadership position, means, constantly move forward, whereby complying with fair and transparent business and take responsibility for sustainability and manage needs in a way that will allow future generations to do the same, are just some of the reasons why I opted for thyssenkrupp Materials.

What are the daily challenges for someone who chooses to work in such a „tough industry”?

For steel to fulfil its various roles for our customers, it takes more than the material alone - steel needs a comprehensive service strategy.

Challenges are different and become more and more complex. The unpredictable times that we live in, reflect in an even less predictable future, and we need to be prepared and create a supportive business environment. Also, customer demands are increasing, and we have to constantly adapt in order to provide high added values, because our success also depends on customer success.

We are on the right track, with state of art technology, agile organization and with our clear strategy “Materials as a Services”.

What makes it exciting? What is it that attracts you to this industry or to thyssenkrupp Materials Serbia?

I have been working on various projects with incredible people within thyssenkrupp Materials Services, learning and developing my skills through regional projects and international communication, and this is very valuable, since “you can download instruction and templates, but not the experience”.

thyssenkrupp Materials Serbia is a unique team, bonded by common goals and built on trust and respect, mixture of knowledge and experience  driven by high-level energy, aimed at exceeding customers requirements. They are professionals dedicated to quality materials and solutions tailored to customers’ needs.

This team is supported by all other teams from thyssenkrupp Materials Eastern Europe network and strategically guided from our headquarter from Germany, with strong support from our top management and effective leaders, who build strong teams within a business and ensure projects and initiatives are implemented successfully.

How can you best balance work and private life to make time for everything? Is it even possible? What is the secret of your success?

This is an increasingly important topic. We do not have to do everything immediately, but we have to be concentrated to do what is most important. Thus, prioritization is key, in accordance with goals and values.

Nowadays, we are faced with many challenges, professionally and privately and striking a balance is not always easy.

I would say that there isn’t a “one-size-fits-all” advice or solution, still, there are several universal strategies that can be tailored to create success. On the other hand, support from other people, as well as their experience and successful stories are very valuable and helpful. This is one of the reason why networking within our community, women@MX is something that I would want to draw attention to.

Why do you recommend the women@MX initiative to your female colleagues?

women@MX is a great initiative launched by even greater women, who had a clear vision to connect women worldwide and create a supportive, success oriented environment.

Also, this community is further supported by a communication channel, where you can find books recommendation, articles and podcasts related to diversity.

I would recommend women to join our network and meet fantastic women worldwide. Through sessions, they share their experiences, support each other and lift each other up to higher levels of professional and personal success.

I would therefore like to thank all of the great women and men as well, for being understanding and supporting.
