Projects make it exciting. When you feel you are part of something marvellous. When you see the effect of your job in the everyday life (e.g. a facade on a building or a welded pool in somebody’s yard).

  • Beyond good

Name: Judit Lévai-Czabaj

Age: 30

Company/ Position: Product specialist Plastic department, thyssenkrupp Materials Hungary

Education: BA degree - Budapest Business School (BGE) - International Business Economics

Why did you choose the steel industry and why thyssenkrupp Materials Hungary?

Well, I didn’t choose the steel industry. I chose the plastic industry. 6 years ago when I was looking for a new job, I tried to find something similar what I had done before. I mean I prefer the category management and product management instead of the standard purchasing process. I enjoy the constantly changing market, the innovations, the new technologies ect. that the plastic industry can provide. thyssenkrupp Materials Hungary can give me the background to extend my limits and do my best.

What are the daily challenges for someone who chooses to work in such a „tough industry”?

As a woman I have to prove my professional skills day by day. Yet, the harder I fight the more I win. The situation gets better in this industry than many years ago. I think a few years later it won’t be a thing to be a woman in this sector.

What makes it exciting? What is it that attracts you to this industry or to thyssenkrupp Materials Hungary?

Projects make it exciting. When you feel you are part of something marvellous. When you see the effect of your job in the everyday life (e.g. a facade on a building or a welded pool in somebody’s yard).

How can you best balance work and private life to make time for everything? Is it even possible? What is the secret of your success?

It is absolutely possible. Not easy, but possible. You need to learn time management and say “no” time to time. If your days are well-organized and you are flexible enough, you can handle even the sudden incidences. I am absolutely committed and never too tired to learn something new. I think this is the secret of my success.
