  • Beyond good

Name: Natália Oláh-Dörgő

Age: 34

Company/ Position: thyssenkrupp Materials Hungary, product specialist – carbon steel beams

Education: university (economics)

Hobby: hiking, reading, travelling

Why did you choose the steel industry and why thyssenkrupp Materials Hungary?

Before thyssenkrupp I also worked as purchaser, but in completely different industries, at manufacturing companies. I wanted to remain in a similar role, but I was open to do it in a new environment – steel industry and trading sounded exciting.

What are the daily challenges for someone who chooses to work in such a „tough industry”?

Nothing is permanent, anything can change in any moment and it is difficult to plan in advance. Even after several years of experience you can face new challenges or problems which you have not met before.

What makes it exciting? What is it that attracts you to this industry or to thyssenkrupp Materials Hungary?

We never know what will happen the next day, so the work is never boring. On the other hand, the company is stable and is an attractive workplace from several aspects.

How can you best balance work and private life to make time for everything? Is it even possible? What is the secret of your success?

It is not easy, mainly because the majority of the tasks cannot be planned in advance, for example in case of unexpected changes on the market the amount of urgent work increases suddenly.

I am trying not to mix my professional and private life, so when I finish my work for the given day I try not to check my e-mails or open my laptop in the evening.

Why do you recommend the women@MX initiative to your female colleagues?

It would be great to have more women in the management, so any initiative that supports women in their career is welcome.
